He came back. After that brutal Friday, and that long, quiet Saturday, he came back. And that one intake of breath in the tomb changes everything. The world has gone on for more than two millennia since Jesus’ feet tread the earth he made. What would they have said back then if someone had told them that some two thousand years later we’d still be waiting? They would’ve thought back to that long Saturday and said, ‘Two thousand years will seem like a breath to you when you finally lay your crown at his feet. I've had some real breakthroughs lately with Bible reading and sin in my life. God has amazingly managed to take certain sins and simply make them unappetizing to me. I have struggled with many of these things my whole life but never so intensely as after I became a Christian. It's impossible for me to understand the mechanism by which He does this. I can only refer you to certain verses like the following. Apparently, it has something to do with "assuaging" my sins much like the waters of Noah's flood were assuaged to reveal the dry land in degrees. Perhaps, if everything were removed at first and at once, in certain cases, I would be open for worse things. This is Sasha:Sasha had surgery today. She had to get a tumor removed. I am quite attached to Sasha and her surgery was a little risky because she's getting to be an old girl, so I was a nervous wreck until the vet called to tell us that everything was fine. When I picked up Sasha from the vet, she was all dopey and looked almost dead. I picked her up and held her to my chest to keep her warm and she stared up at me with her big, confused eyes because I'm sure she had no idea what was happening but she was glad I was there. It was like watching a small child trip on acid. Not that I have ever done that or would ever do that, but I can certainly imagine that it would at least somewhat resemble what a rat on Isoflurane and opiate pain relievers looks like. My point is that it was heartbreaking. Hi everyone! I hope you are all having wonderful long weekends! I wanted to share a quick and easy Heebie Jeebies card! I am so in love with this glitter paper from American Crafts, and it is perfect for Halloween. I am having a sale at my etsy shop! So if you love pie, bugs, ice cream, owls, flowers or blahs go check it out and tell your friends! To go along with my Valentine's theme, here is a picture my husband and I took together while playing around with our new dSLR. I hope that with this new camera I can start taking better pictures of my cards and everything else around me!. Good evening! How is it going in your neck of the woods? I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but yesterday morning we woke up to SNOW! Not only was it snowing, but laying, too. It was totally crazy but I secretly loved it! With all that has been going on around here, it feels like autumn went by in a blur and it almost was time for Christmas. I know, jumping the gun, but it will be here before you know it. It feels like it has been so long, but I spent some quality time in my studio this weekend and put together a card for this week's Play Date Cafe color challenge. Here is the color story for this week. I'll take a cup of whatever that warm beverage is, please! Here's what I came up with for this color challenge. I have been so inspired recently by Jinny Newlin's creations, particularly this card and this layout. I just love her scrappy collage style and tried to emulate that with this card. ’ I said, ‘I don't want no part of that rat race.Let’s do what we’re doin’ and try to stay alive in the business. ’ He said, ‘Them’s my thoughts, exactly. ’”Happy Birthday to Doc Watson: a true American original, a continuing inspiration, and a class act to boot. Just a reminder - with the regular lobster season underway, our deputies will be out patrolling the water, the shoreline, bridges and boat ramps to make sure everyone is behaving and following the law.
